Filming the phone (text message)

This footage was used to highlight how his family are aware that something is wrong with him as his mum sends him a text to tell him she's worried about him, showing it is an on going problem, however, this text is then replaced by his friend texting him to ask him to go to the party and bring drink. The fact this text comes in last and replaces the text of the mum shows how the alcohol and partying is his priority as the text is therefore on top of the other text and that the reason for some of his alcohol dependency is due to his friends and the depression he is in.








We struggled to film the phone as the camera wouldn't focus on the text which meant it was blurred which was unsuccessful as the text needed to be clear and readable. The blurring was due to the darkness turning into brightness, however it had to be like this because we wanted the dark room to show depression and then the texts to highlight his alcohol dependency.











We managed to film it successfully as I reduced the brightness on my phone which meant that it was dark enough for the camera to focus on the writing.

This footage is successful as it portrays our meaning perfectly and is visually successful as the darkness and the only light coming from the text works well.
